Designer Edith Mair, born in Brixlegg in the Austrian Tyrol, is a member of a new generation of designers on the Swarovski design team. Her designs are impulsive and sensitive, displaying a talent nurtured and developed at the College of Glassmaking in Kramsach. In search of a new creative challenge, Edith joined the Swarovski design team in 1990. Her first creation was the Roe Deer Fawn.

After gaining some experience on the Swarovski Design Team, she soon made a name for herself with her interpretations of the Dove and the Ladybug. These were followed by a number of other crystal animal figurines including the St. Bernard, the Chimpanzee, the Tortoises, and the Rabbit. She created the designs for Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf from the Fairy Tales series.
Her Sweetheart piece has also been very popular.
She is also the designer of the 2012 Cat Mother, Kitten Standing and Kitten Sitting, as well as many of the Lovlot issues.

Edith’s main interests include painting, architecture and modern art. Her work is both job and hobby to her. She derives her energy and inspiration from her immediate surroundings, spending every minute of her leisure time outdoors.

Can’t say I know much about this designer. Sorry to say that I do not reckon much to the pieces she has designed.
