The Swarovski Home Accessories product line has undergone a number of name changes since its inception in 1992. It was first introduced by Swarovski as ‘Selection’, issued in unique packaging.
The initial release had 12 pieces, ranging in price from $325.00 to $995.00; some of these Swarovski issues were limited in production. With a somewhat costly price point, collectors were certainly ‘selective’ about which pieces they added to their collections.
By 1996, some Swarovski ‘Selection’ pieces were individually numbered; this individual numbering system carried over into 2011, but has now come to an end.
In 2002, the name of the product line changed to Swarovski Crystal Décor.
From 2003 – 2007, the product line changed again to ‘Crystal Home Accessories’ (CHA).
In 2004, Swarovski reassigned some crystal figurines from the Silver Crystal line to the Crystal Home Accessories; a distinctive example of this change is the Waterlily Candleholders, soon to be retired.
From 2008 – 2010, this line was called ‘Home & Interior’.
There have been numerous theme groups in what is now known as the ‘Home Accessories’ line over the years, and they included: Crystal Celebrations, Crystal Jewels, Crystal Leaves, Dressed Up, Jewels collection, Out of Africa, Op Art, Rainbow Collection, and Crystalline. The Crystalline product line is the only theme group still in use today.
In 2011, this category grouping is now known as Swarovski ‘Home Accessories’. And the former Symbols and the current Soulmates product lines have been added to this product category.
The constant name changes certainly have made it more difficult for collectors to keep track of this particular category. However, we at the Crystal Fanatics Club, have kept track of the changes in our Fabulous CFC Photo Galleries. Our Photo Galleries feature each of Swarovski’s Product Lines with all the pertinent information you need to know for each piece in your Collection.
There are many of us Crystal Fanatics who would like to see Swarovski make up its mind about this category and decide upon a permanent name change.
